Creative Support Assistant (P-T Christmas Temp) - Swanky Portraits (Illustrations) - London E15

Swanky Portraits is looking to recruit a ‘Creative Support Assistant’ to assist within the production of personalised books. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a new concept in the personalised-book marketplace.
Due to the recent popularity of personalised books, (with the Christmas period expected to be especially busy), we require support in creating individual customer orders.

This is a Junior role which would suit someone from a creative/admin background and will require a basic understanding of Adobe Photoshop functions. (However we are happy to train the right person since the books are created using a basic template).

This is a part-time role, working for a minimum of 15 hours a week, (Mondays-Fridays from 9:00am – 12:00pm) during October. The hours will then increase from November – December (9:00am-3:00pm Monday-Fridays). This role would ideally suit someone who may have other commitments and is looking for flexible hours.

Job Description:
We have opportunities for up to 2 candidates to support in delivering each customer’s order.
We are looking to employ the right person by early October through to 23rd December 2016.
The primary responsibilities will be as follows:

• Receive customer order with full description and requirements for personalisation of their book.


• Input of personalised information into Swanky Portrait’s existing template.(This will require a basic understanding of Adobe Photoshop).


• Attention to detail will be required to ensure the customer requirements are accurately presented.


• Saving and uploading completed page lay-outs.


• Creating a complete book layout. This will involve proof-reading of personalised names and ensuring pages appear in the correct order.


• Submitting completed book to our partner printing company.

Person Spec:

• Happy to work Part-time. (Ideally someone who seeks flexible hours around other commitments).


• Able to translate written information accurately.


• Computer literate.


• Reliable and able to commit to a period of 3 months. (Between October and December).


• Basic understanding of Adobe Photoshop functions. (Preferred but not essential)


• Attention to detail.


• Able to work unsupervised within a small team.


• Interest in the creative industry.


• Someone who is able to work calmly under pressure. (As there will be busy periods)


• Able to travel to Stratford, East London.


• Additional European languages in particular, German, French or Dutch (are a bonus) but not essential.

We offer a variety of gifts, though the focus for this particular role will be on personalised books as this is currently our best seller. Customers for Swanky Portraits are UK based as well as International. The books target both children and adults.

There is an exciting future ahead for the books, which are already on sale and will require support in order to ensure that demand is effectively met.
