As a Senior Infrastructure Analyst, you will work as part of a team that is required to maintain a high standard of work within a dynamic and sometimes demanding environment.
The ability to communicate at technical level is essential, but also being able to communicate in clear and concise fashion to non-technical business is equal of importance. The job holder will be required to think tactically to adapt to changing priorities, but also strategically to ensure that the infrastructure develops according to the agreed road map. The job holder should demonstrate a proactive and flexible approach in supporting the implementation and general support of all IT architecture. We are looking for an individual who strives for improvement and has the drive and energy to make those improvements happen.
The job holder will report into the Infrastructure Manager and will be part of the team responsible for management, implementation and support of all managed infrastructure. The duties of this individual will also include liaising with third party vendors in order to provide problem resolution for infrastructure which we are responsible or liaise with managed service providers for infrastructure managed under a managed service agreement. The role will include scope for evaluation of new infrastructure related products and will require the individual to liaise closely with other IT teams and business users in order that the NHBC technical infrastructure is aligned with the needs of the business
Key Responsibilities
– Installation, configuration and documentation of Windows Servers 2008 /2012 in virtual and Physical
environments.
– Proactive monitoring of all network infrastructures through available infrastructure monitors.
– Experience of working in a technical project team and leading technical projects.
– Support of upgrades to servers and other supported infrastructure.
– Installation, configuration and documentation of VMware 5.5 and virtual servers, DRS, FT, Vmotion,
Distributed Switches, Update Manager and Profiles.
– Provide mentoring and knowledge transfer to other members of the Infrastructure team and other teams
within the IT department.
– Installation, configuration and documentation of Citrix Servers, PVS, Netscaler, Citrix Policy, Storefront.
– Installation, configuration and documentation of Exchange server 2010 / 2012, DAGS, Hub Transport, CAS.
– Installation, configuration and documentation of network protocols TCP/IP, DNS, Switch configurations, LAN /
WAN
– Responsible for diagnosing and resolving all hardware and software issues or queries to an advanced level.
– Responsible for building & maintaining servers & other related infrastructure hardware
– Managing the capacity on IT Core Servers to ensure additional capacity is available ahead of demands
– Improving the availability, reliability, stability of all areas and components of the Citrix & Microsoft
infrastructure
– Responsible for implementing and troubleshooting, especially Active Directory, Citrix, Vmware, Exchange
2013, and Network security policies
– To lead and provide technical expertise to business driven infrastructure projects, in particular the installation
and commissioning of new infrastructure systems and services.
– To actively manage projects as required, and ensure that agreed objectives are delivered to time and budget.
