Volunteer Co-ordinator, Destitute Youth Project
Part time: 3.5 days per week
Salary: £24,876pa pro rata with an annual progression up to £27,300pa pro rata
Fixed Term: 3 year contract
We are looking for a skilled and experienced Volunteer Co-ordinator to join the Refugee and Migrant Team in London on the Destitute Youth Project. A key part of this role will be your ability to recruit, manage and supervise volunteers in line with best practice. You will manage our volunteer befriending and casework service to support children and young people in London who are destitute or facing destitution. You will also be supporting volunteers in organising and facilitating a fortnightly service user group engaging specialist external input, to develop skills and resilience and improve emotional well-being.
In order to be successful in this role, you will have significant experience of recruiting and supervising volunteers as well as knowledge of effective methods of working with young people in one to one and group work settings. You will have a good level of knowledge of the legislation affecting asylum seekers and migrants and once appointed would be willing to complete the necessary training to become registered at OISC at level 1, Asylum and Protection.
