Relationship Manager - Asset Backed Lending

My client is an International banking and financial services company, headquartered in London. They are looking for Relationship Manager to join the Real Estate lending team.

Job Responsibilities:

• Liaise with the internal stakeholders, brokers and vendors to originate commercial property loans in London & Greater London.


• Underwrite credit proposals and present to risk and executive committee.


• Drive high value mortgage (including buy-to-let) business in the Indian expat segment.


• Develop an end-to-end execution plan for developing the portfolio of property backed loans for the bank.


• Use effective marketing and sales promotional tools for raising the bank’s profile in the target segment, which ultimately result in opening new business opportunities for the bank.


• Active participation in community events, industry forums to generate new business opportunities for the high value mortgage segment.


• Train the staff members, help design the promotional material in accordance with industry standards; internal & external regulators.


• Regular monitoring of loan accounts, timely flagging & communicating the deviations to Senior Management; collections and recovery.

Key skills and experience:

• To exhibit sound knowledge and competency Commercial property/asset backed loans in UK; posses necessary certifications like CeMAP.


• Have a sound knowledge of property valuation, quality and marketability of properties in Central and Greater London area.


• Working knowledge of the regulations driving the property or asset backed loans and/or mortgage market in UK.


• Credit Note writing and Credit Assessment skills.


• Lending experience in the Business/Commercial Banking Segment.


• Strong negotiation and presentation skills; ability to communicate with all levels in the organization.


• Disciplined approach to deal execution & follow ups.


• Self-motivated and self-driven.


• Good interpersonal skills and team player.


• Ability to sense and scan external environment to assess the threats and opportunities.
