Finance Business Partner - Project Focus
This leading Global Financial Services Business is currently recruiting for a Finance Business Partner to work on one of its high profile finance programmes. Having a dual report into the CFO and Programme Director this is a high profile role that will be a mix of project costing and control and modelling and analysis. A high level of presentation and communication skills is a must.
Responsibilities will include:
- Member of programme leadership team responsible for the delivery of the programme objectives, financial benefits and signed off programme costs.
- Developing a detailed understanding of all the financial elements of the programme: the detail of existing business cases and assumptions; programme principles; actual and planned spend and benefit realisation at the project level.
- Project/workstream and spend category using advanced Excel skills.
- Working with Programme/Project leaders to continually validate and refine projections for benefits and costs – providing summary of projected position to Programme Leadership on a regular basis.
- Providing support and insight to Programme leadership by thinking ahead about implications of any changes as a result of project delivery delays, resource changes, scope changes, budget changes or alterations to financial principles. Agreeing key programme financial assumptions around costs and benefits with the programme office.
- Working with Programme Team and project leaders to develop new business cases – leading the creation and validation of the proposed project costs and benefits.
- Providing connection between the programme and the business unit finance business partners to ensure that benefits of the programme are reflected in the business unit financial results to ensure transparency of programme benefits and business unit cost reduction or investment actions.
- Maintaining a reconciliation by business case of the programme and financial accounting view of the programme in actual, forecast and budget reports.
- Identifying divergence (between project/programme objectives as defined in business cases and budgets and the forecast outcome)
- Ensuring projected benefits are reflected in the business unit forecasts and budgets
- Producing a monthly financial reporting pack showing the actual and forecast expenditure for each period together with a summary of benefits realised in the period and YTD
As the ideal candidate you will ideally be a fully qualified accountant with a proven track record of finance business partnering and analysis within a financial services business. You will have exceptional presentation and communication skills and will not be fazed by dealing with and presenting to senior heads. You will have a high level of systems literacy and excellent excel. Prior experience working in a project environment would be an advantage but not a pre-requisite
