Computer Studies/ICT Teacher needed for SEN school from Sept'16

A very friendly, well run SEBD school that caters for children with Emotional/Behavioural Difficulties/ Mental Health backgrounds require a Teacher of Computer Studies/ICT to join them from September. Ideally you will have QTS but experienced teachers without this who have experience working with more challenging students will definately be considered.

The school are expanding into a new site that is specifically for Key Stage Four students who will be starting their GCSE and BTEC studies.

In the first year, there will only be twelve students in Year 10 and so class sizes are very small. The students will be taking the GCSE Computer Studies course.

The school would also like the same teacher to take on the delivery of BTEC First Business course.

In total, this amounts to 15hrs teaching between the two subjects. You do not necessarily need to have experience teaching Business Studies but the themes are quite straight forward and so a willingness to embrace this is essential.

The rest of school day is made up of general enrichment activities, project work, life skills, sports and teachers works together to deliver a fully rounded education to the students.

You will work directly on the school payroll/contract from Day One. No temp to perm here.

Support workers/Learning Support Assistants work closely with you to attend to most of any behaviour outbursts however as an adult in the room, you must be comfortable and sympathetic to the needs of the students. For the main part are able learners, but due to their Mental health disorders they have / traumatic experiences they have suffered then they can sometimes display very challenging outbursts.

This is an extremely supportive and friendly school. It has a real family feel to it as everybody knows gets along well and enjoys being in this kind of environment. Full training given in terms of TEAM TEACH and all safeguarding procedures within the school to ensure the safety and well being of the students and staff.
