My client, a Ofsted outstanding secondary school in the London borough of Tower Hamlets, are looking for two graduates who are passionate about working with young people and eager to gain the required experience needed to begin a PGCE/teacher training by working as a teaching assistant.


Each year this East London secondary school look to take on a handful of outstanding graduates who are passionate about becoming a teacher in the near future, and are looking to spend the academic year working as a teaching assistant to gain invaluable school based experience.


As a graduate teaching assistant you will be working with students across curricular in a range of subjects. Your teaching assistant duties will include supporting students in a general capacity, working with pupils in small groups and on a 1:1 basis and also providing support to pupils with Special Educational Needs.


Working as a teaching assistant is a fantastic way to gain invaluable school based experience which will stands you in good stead for when you begin teacher training. You will also have the opportunity to get involved in extracurricular activates to bolster your experience with young people ahead of a PGCE application.


The Senco is looking to interview graduates who have gained some experience with young people although this may not be within a school. You may have gained your experience through voluntary school work, tutoring, overseas teaching, youth work….


This teaching assistant role would be ideal experience for a recent graduate who can commit to a full time teaching assistant role commencing in September.


This teaching assistant role will commence in September 2016 – July 2017 (5 days per week)
