Assistant Acountant - Central Location
The UK’s leading travel industry trade association, ABTA is offering an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Accountant to join the Finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing and processing all financial transactions and providing accurate financial information for ABTA LTD.
The role will involve:
- Production of accurate monthly management accounts for ABTA Ltd, within agreed timescales.
- Monthly reconciliation of ABTA Ltd’s balance sheet accounts.
- Assistance with the preparation of quarterly forecasts and annual budget.
- Assistance with the preparation of year-end accounts and supporting documentation for audit.
- Maintenance of fixed asset register
- Maintenance and management of sales ledger including raising invoices and converting pro-forma invoices for ABTA.
- Management of the credit control process including chasing internal and external contacts and producing reminder letters, ensuring timely payment of invoice.
- Assistance with the preparation of monthly cash flow forecasts.
- Maintenance and management of purchase ledger and associated invoice and payment process for ABTA
- Production of quarterly ABTA Ltd’s VAT returns.
- Undertaking any other reasonable duties that are requested by the Finance Manager or Head of Finance, CRM and Corporate Services.
The candidate will have:
- Good written skills
- Good knowledge of how finance and non-finance colleagues interface
- Good organisation skills, meticulous attention to detail
- “Can do” attitude to take ownership of plans
- Team player willing to adapt to fast paced environment and offer high quality support
- Minimum 12 months producing management accounts and good understanding of double-entry book-keeping
