We are looking for applicants with a specialist focus on Experimental Psychology to strengthen our research profile and to support teaching in BPS core areas.
A PhD in Psychology and a sound research record are essential for the post. The post holder will be expected to teach in our undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. As the Psychology programmes are accredited by the BPS, eligibility for Graduate Basis of Chartered Membership with the BPS is a prerequisite for the posts. Teaching experience in Research Methods and core BPS areas is desirable.
The University is rapidly developing its research profile and has an ambitious agenda for the future. The applicant will have a research track in a core BPS psychology topic with potential applications to real-life situations. All new academic staff appointed to the University must either already be research active at REF 3* or above level or have the clear proven capacity, willingness and ability to become research active at this level for REF2020. The University has various support mechanisms in place to help scholars who are ambitious in developing his strong research profile.
The post is permanent, subject to the normal probationary period of twelve months.
