Head of Music / Music HOD




Smart Teachers is recruiting for a Head of Music / Music HOD to join an independent school in Kensington & Chelsea (W14). This full time post will be available from September 2016 and has the strong possibility to become permanent for the right candidate.


About the Role:


  • Head of Music / Music HOD

  • Managing the implementation of the Music curriculum

  • Developing and updating schemes of work in line with the National Curriculum

  • Ensuring quality of teaching is kept to a high standard

  • Starting in September 2016

  • MPS salary up to £50,000 (depending on experience)

  • Separate Music room and additional classrooms for musical lessons

  • Purpose built library soon to be completed, along with a new sixth form centre

In order to be considered for this role, you will need to meet the following criteria:


  • Bachelor of Education/ PGCE / or equivalent teaching degree

  • Good honours degree in Music

  • Proven experience teaching the UK curriculum teaching to A Level

  • Eligible to work in the UK (must have valid visa)

  • Recent classroom-based references and valid DBS/police checks
