Commercial Bid Coordinator

To ensure the continued success of our business, we are creating a team dedicated to delivering high-quality, market leading digital products for our customers and we need a highly skilled Bid Coordinator to be part of it.


Reporting to the Head of Commercial, this new and exciting opportunity will require the successful person to understand and manage our existing supplier contracts whilst building a robust, structured bid process for the future. In time, the expectation is for this role to work with key stakeholders across Stagecoach Group, creating a holistic procurement process that will benefit both Stagecoach Group and its divisions.


Key Responsibilities


Working from our brand new offices in Southwark, London, the role will be responsible for:


  • Project managing the tender process from RFQ until proposal submittal.

  • Acting as a focal point of communication between suppliers and internal stakeholders.

  • Negotiating with suppliers to secure the most advantageous terms.

  • Preparing clear documentation that provides clear rationale for decision-making.

  • Identifying commercially viable suppliers and develop business partnerships.

  • Liaising with suppliers during tendering processes for site visits, tender clarifications and updates.

  • Examining and re-evaluating existing contracts.

  • Reviewing, implementing and continuously drive improvements in our bid processes, building a culture of long-term saving on procurement costs.

  • Regular and ad-hoc analysis and reporting.

  • Understanding new trends and regulations affecting our business.

  • Identifying opportunities to improve our suppliers’ experience.

  • Undertaking all related administrative tasks as required.

Minimum Requirements


Key to the success of this role will be an ability to self-start, organise and effectively communicate with suppliers and key internal stakeholders. In doing so, the expectation is for this role to be the “go to” commercial bid person for Stagecoach Group.


We are therefore looking for the following skills and experiences:


  • Proven experience of working on proposals, preferably within a commercial division

  • Knowledge of sourcing and procurement techniques.

  • High attention to detail and with clarity of thought.

  • Creative mind and good at coordination and communication, both written and verbal.

  • Able to work within tight deadlines.

  • Flexible approach and willingness to ‘get the job done’.

  • Talent in negotiations and in building strong working relationships.

  • Experience in collecting and analysing data.

  • Degree educated in relevant, business-related subject.

  • Able to demonstrate a passion for commercial activities.

  • Excellent IT skills.

  • Flexible to travel, when required.
