An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Financial Controller for An independent Television, Online, Publishing organisation. Reporting into the Finance Director the role is to take full control of the Finance function.

Responsibilities in this role

• Managed the day-to-day finance operation with a constant focus on cash-flow and margins


• Delivered timely and accurate management accounts including full narrative for shareholders and bank


• Month-end journals and balance sheet reconciliations including WIP, fixed assets, salaries control, accruals and prepayments


• Line management responsibility for two finance assistants


• Reviewed and approved monthly payroll and pension payments


• Implemented internal controls and processes, training both finance and non-finance colleagues


• SAP super-user, responsible for continuous development of system and user training


• Delivered weekly sales pipeline document to salespeople and board.


• Fulfilled all external reporting requirements, including statutory accounts, VAT returns, ONS submissions and company secretarial duties. Led two external audits with no EBITDA adjustments


• Production management on external client projects, liaised with exec producers to create budgets; negotiated budgets and contractual points with the client


• Liaised closely with production management to produce regular job cost reports, including production green-light and wraps


• Submission of government grant applications and R&D tax credit claims


• Built pricing models for tenders and pitches
