FP&A Analyst - International Retail
Financial Planning & Analysis within the division is made up of three core components: strategic planning, budgeting and forecasting and management reporting. The FP&A Analyst will play a core role in delivering sub processes and analysis within each of these areas.

My client is a global brand and mutlinational retailer that is based in London and looking for an ACA qualified accountant to join their International Retail division.
Description
Key Responsibilities include:
- Support the development of strategic analysis within the division
- Understand divisional information requirements and use this to build data models and design key performance indicators to support the delivery of insightful management information
- Participate in developing strategic insights based on information analysed
- Support in the creation of the divisional strategic three year plan deliverables, taking ownership for key areas of strategic analysis (e.g. capital investment and return on capital employed, profitability trends, drivers of financial performance etc.)
- Prepare best practice tools and templates to assist businesses in preparing long range plans
- Build templates for use across the division in budgeting and forecasting deliverables.
- Take responsibility for preparing specific sections of the divisional budget / forecast packs and supporting analysis including management presentations.
- Work with divisional management, Head of FP&A, Regional FDs and Divisional FD, to build models to analyse the performance of business units within the division
- Manage business unit pack submissions in business process workflow tool.
- Work with divisional business units to improve the quality of management reporting provided to division, by providing analytical templates and guidance where necessary
- Support in the identification of where management reporting can be made more effective and efficient.
- Manage monthly pack submissions in business process workflow tool.
- Support the Head of FP&A to evolve the suite of management reports produced for divisional management, building additional analysis where necessary.
- Creation of financial dashboards, in line with management requirements, which can be used to provide management with easily accessible and insightful management information.
- Build brand reporting formats, focusing on volume, revenue and margin drivers.
- Support in the development of financial insights into business performance which can be used to assist divisional management in effective decision making.
- Take ownership for cross divisional analysis and opportunity identification in key areas:
o Gross margin improvement
o Cost optimisation
o Cash generation
o Working capital management
- Work with cross divisional project teams to capitalise on opportunities identified and drive improvement in financial performance
- Develop tools, methodologies and best practices that can be implemented across the division (e.g. driver based budgeting toolkits, standardised profitability analysis, store refit analysis / modelling etc.)
- Development of financial business cases for ad hoc project work, likely to be mainly in the area of brand analysis (e.g. new product development, brand acquisitions, general market and portfolio analysis).
- Support in the progression of business unit investment requisitions through the divisional and group approval processes, providing supporting information and analysis where necessary.
Profile
My client is looking for an ACA qualified accountant who has experience of working in a mutlinational retailer and who can step in to this newly created FP&A Analyst position with their International Retail division, based in London.
Job Offer
A basic salary between £60,000 – £65,000 + good company benefits.
