My client – an active, long-term, global, multi-asset investor are looking for a Bid Writer – with excellent English writing expertise to join their team. They are looking for someone who is motivated and committed to the role and business long term.

The role of the Bid Writer will entail a certain amount of autonomy in managing bids, request for proposals and managing the content of bid responses as well as facing internal stakeholders in the business.

It will be initially a more desk bound role where candidates will need to be deadline driven whilst willing to learn about the industry and products/services that the company has to offer.

With experience the Bid Writer would be expected to take on more of the solution design and strategic elements of a bid.

Main responsibilities of the Bid Writer :

– Coordinate resources across the company to compile proposals (define the timeframe, manage the process, source information, identify and address key issues, establish the guidelines and perform quality checks)

– Work closely with sales, investment platforms and other key stakeholders across the firm to collate information and to challenge investment solutions where appropriate

– Write investment proposals in clear and concise language

– Structure proposals with a marketing approach to promote the companies competitive advantages

– Gather feedback subsequent to submissions and follow up on action plans to address issues highlighted

– Maintenance of standard wording and ongoing content management

Technical Skills of the Bid Writer :

– Excellent English writing and language skills

– Excellent writing skills: you enjoy writing and can transform complex investment concepts and technical descriptions into marketing documents that are easy to read for non-specialists, with a strong emphasis on key selling points

– Strong analytical skills and a good understanding of asset management products

Personal Attributes of the Bid Writer :

– Graduates with to 2-3 years’ experience

– Good knowledge in asset management products especially fixed income

– Good project and time management skills

– Team player: willingness to share knowledge and to learn from others

– Good communication and inter-personal skills

– Attention to details; self-motivated and well-organised

– Can-do attitude with the ability to work under pressure
