United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland: Senior Commercial/Corporate Lawyer
About the role
With our organisation expanding and seeking to become more sustainable, we require greater legal support and, as such, are recruiting a senior commercial/corporate lawyer to join our London team.
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Legal and Compliance, you will draft, review and negotiate a wide-range of commercial contracts, take the lead on project managing litigation, and assist with the restructuring of corporate entities. Day-to-day you will proactively support MSI on a wide variety of legal issues, working with stakeholders both locally and in our country programmes. You will supervise external lawyers, produce templates and provide training on aspects of commercial contracts of interest to the business.
MSI is a fast-paced organisation that offers real challenges and career development. This role will have a huge impact on the way that we work by ensuring that our contracts are fit for purpose to support our continued success in delivering vital family planning services to men and women around the world.
For more information, please see the job framework on our website.
About you
First and foremost, you will be committed to achieving MSI’s mission, ‘children by choice, not chance’. In addition, you will be a qualified lawyer with significant commercial/corporate legal experience, some or all of which will have been acquired in a large international law firm. You will have sufficient experience to be able to prioritise your workload and enjoy working with minimal or no supervision. You will also have the gravitas to deal directly with key stakeholders in the organisation.
You will be solutions-focussed, proactive, able to communicate complex legal terminology in simple terms (both verbally and in writing), and you will be happy to turn your hand to a variety of legal issues to support a busy team. This role has a huge international focus, so you will have experience of, and enjoy, working across diverse cultural environments, and you will be able to get to grips with foreign legal concepts quickly.
The successful candidate will have the right to work in the UK and be pro-choice on abortion.
What we can offer you
At MSI, you will be a part of a progressive and collaborative working environment, and we can guarantee that you will be surrounded by passionate, focused, intelligent, high-achieving, talented individuals.
In return for your commitment, we can offer you a supportive environment for development, as well as a competitive salary and benefits package (including 25 days annual leave, discretionary bonus scheme, up to 5% pension contribution, season ticket loan etc.).
The closing date for this role is Sunday 15th November (midnight UK time), however early application is encouraged.
