Robertson Bell Finance are recruiting a Director of Finance and Operations for an international development organisation working to improve the health and education in the world’s poorest countries. Based in London, this position is a key member of the senior management team which directs the strategy and operations of the charity.

This is a broad role in which you will work closely with the Executive team, while taking responsibility for Finance, Governance, Human Resources and IT teams. Key responsibilities will include the delivery of sound financial and resource management, the development of new ideas for diversifying income and the mobilisation of resources to support the planned growth of the organisation. A number of projects are to be reviewed during 2016, one of them is to develop the policies and procedures to ensure the charity operates at the highest levels of probity, accountability and transparency. Other projects include reviewing the IT and accounting systems across the organisation, as well ensuring the HR policies and processes are in place to support all staff world-wide.

We are looking for a commercially and financially astute qualified accountant as this is a key role within the charity. The opportunity will suit someone who is looking to make the next step in their career or similar role, experience within not-for-profit space or a complex commercial organisation as exposure to international development is advantageous but not essential. You will be customer focused, and be excited by the prospect of playing a lead role in a wide-ranging organisational transformation project which will include changes to internal process and procedures, as well as significant changes to the organisation’s financial strategy.
