Junior Finance Analyst - Soho House & Co

Junior Finance Analyst – Group FP&A, Soho House & Co

Who We Are…

The Soho House Group is a collection of private members’ clubs and restaurants, catering to those in the film, media, fashion and creative industries. The company now includes bars, clubs, hotels and venues around the world. In addition, the Group is developing with new openings planned globally.

The Role…

As the company continues to expand and the number of sites we have grows, the need for more accurate and faster analysis of the business has become more critical. The business now has an increased need for business insight over and above the daily sales, weekly P&Ls and margin analysis, and month end reporting packs, all of which have grown in complexity. This has led to the need to recruit a Junior Analyst into the Group FP&A team.

Main responsibilities include:

  • Producing and issuing the daily sales report, covering all businesses and regions.

  • Production of the group weekly “flash” P&Ls, pulling in P&Ls from all regions.

  • Producing and maintaining weekly management reporting packs covering labour, food and beverage margins, league tables, sales graphs.

  • Maintaining the reporting suite for additional sites, changes in the current sites and any additional revenue streams.

  • Reporting to be created in a professional style and at a high level of accuracy, in a format suitable for distribution directly to the key business consumers, including board.

  • Assist in the production of monthly management accounts.

  • Assist in the annual budgeting process and any forecasting as required.

  • Assist in project work, current projects include “Working Smart” labour optimisation, improvements to Fourth labour rota tools, and central purchasing cost savings.

  • Additional ad-hoc duties as requested.

What we look for…

  • Keen and enthusiastic character, with a desire to take on more tasks and learn on the job.

  • Ability to deliver high quality work to tight deadlines.

  • High attention to detail, with the desire to spot and challenge when things do not look right.

  • Strong analytical skills and ability to work under own initiative.

  • Ability to manage and prioritise tasks simultaneously.

  • “Solution driven” as opposed to “problem focusing”.

  • A desire to implement improvements, not to just “do what we did last time”.

  • A part-qualified accountant (ACCA / CIMA / ACA) or someone recently starting on an accounting career. Previous accounting experience is less important than analytical skills in this role.

  • Advanced Excel skills will be crucial due to the nature of the data manipulation and analysis required in this role. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate either significant prior experience or an ability to pick up new skills quickly.
