Senior Corporate Tax Manager - TOP10 Accounting Firm
McGinnis Loy Associates is proud to be working with a Top10 Accountancy Firm who are looking for two Senior Corporate Tax Managers to join their growing team in West London. Reporting to the Tax Partner, you will be a senior member of the tax group and will be responsible for assisting Partners in servicing clients, directing Corporate Tax services and managing people within the Tax department. Key duties include:
- Business development of existing and new clients as well as potentially developing a specialist field of technical and/or sector knowledge and expertise.
- Acting as a major point of contact for client requests/needs, keeping clients informed of progress in relation to all aspects of the Tax service provided, and maintaining regular contact with clients
- Managing a portfolio of clients including control of billings and cash collection within the firms criteria
- Regular involvement with tax planning and complex tax issues in conjunction with Partners/Directors
- Ensuring assignments are completed within agreed budgets and keeping clients/partners informed of overruns and planning staff assignments in order to give an appropriate spread of experience
- Ensuring that the Firm’s quality control procedures are adhered to including second partner review
- Reviewing and delivering the final advice to clients subject to sign off from Partners
- Identifying risk and technical matters as well as selling opportunities to the Partner, whilst exercising judgment within agreed parameters
- Working as part of the management team with other Tax managers in the business group, providing support to the rest of the Tax team
- Training to more junior staff both on the job and through monitoring exams and on the job performance
- Participating in bids/proposals for new corporate Tax work
- Developing your own network of contacts internally and externally and starting to win your own work
To be considered for the positions you should be educated to degree level with CTA and/or ACA qualification (or equivalent), have an in depth and up to date knowledge of corporation tax, be able to deal with complex tax issues and manage a number of junior staff. You should be able to manage a substantial client portfolio profitably, actively seek opportunities for developing new clients and for selling new services to existing clients, with experience of dealing with client senior management including Tax Directors and CFOs.
On offer is a salary up to £80,000 depending on your tax experience and size of firm, with benefits including 25 days holidays, pension and healthcare schemes, and other flexible benefits.
