Project Health & Safety Manager – Piling – £80k – London. An excellent opportunity has arisen for an Project Health & Safety Manager within a well-established specialist piling contractor based in the South east

About the Client:

Our client specialise in the design and installation of large diameter piles, under-ream piles, in-situ piled retaining walls, diaphragm walls and geothermal systems on projects throughout Great Britain. Our client turnover in the region of £40m, and are a wholly owned subsidiary of a parent company turning over in excess of £1.5bn annually

About the Role:

* Understand the Company Health & Safety and Environmental (SHE) Policies and Processes and statutory requirements as they affect the company’s operations and ensure that the requirements are implemented on the project
* Provide positive assistance to site on Health & Safety issues, spending appropriate time on site to adequately address issues and monitor compliance.
* Carrying out audits and inspections on site where required and ensure non-conformances are closed out
* Provide advice and guidance, and where necessary assist with the obtaining legal consents, licenses and exemptions such as discharge consents, abstraction licenses and waste management licenses as and when required and as directed.
* Assist in project specific training
* Carrying out re-active monitoring including accident, incident & near miss investigations.
* Liaise with external bodies, organisations & positively represent the cleint as required.
* High levels of communication to enable engagement across all levels on site

About the Candidate:

* NEBOSH General or Construction
* GradIOSH, undertaking IPD for CMIOSH would be preferred
* Piling / Groundworks experience required, working on large scale projects preciously would be advantageous
* Previous experience as Health & Safety Manager / Senior H&S Advisor
* Outstanding time management skills and attention to detail
* Ability to work under pressure in a busy environment
* To communicate effectively and maintain working relationships with colleagues and customers
* Able to effectively manage your own diary
* Use of Microsoft Office applications
