We are excited to be able to offer an exciting opportunity for a Building Services Engineer to join our Estates team. You team provide a range of services across the hospital which include; all equipment breakdowns, fabric repairs, planned preventative maintenance, capital project work support and service contracts.


Job Description


This individual will join a team of 10, including Electrical & Mechanical Shift Engineers. The Building Services Engineer will provide a first class building maintenance service to the hospital, comprising of planned maintenance and reactive repair programmes,


This is a full time (40 hours per week; Mon-Fri), permanent opportunity.

Duties & Responsibilities


* To work on planned preventive maintenance schedules, in line with departmental goals and objectives.


* Respond to emergency and unforeseen maintenance requests.


* Supervise external contractors as directed by the Estates Manager or Chief Engineers.


* To carry out all work in adherence to health and safety and COSHH policies and guidelines.


* Assist in any refurbishments as required as well as carry out all checks on plant equipment on a daily basis.


Skills & Experience


* Proven experience in similar role within the hospital or hotel services sector.


* Knowledge of relevant hospital policies and procedures would be advantageous.


* Health and Safety, COSHH and general knowledge of Fire regulations.


* Ability to work on own initiative, prioritising your workload, and responding quickly to emergency calls.


* Good team player with flexibility to respond to the needs of the hospital.
