We are seeking a research fellow to work on a project led by Dr. Matthew Easterbrook, Prof. Peter Harris, and Prof. Robin Banerjee in the School of Psychology at the University of Sussex. The project, which is funded by the Education Endowment Foundation, aims to implement a self-affirmation intervention across a large number of secondary schools in the South East of England, and has the goal of raising the attainment of disadvantaged key stage 4 school pupils.
The job will primarily involve recruiting secondary schools to take part in academic research, planning and conducting research within secondary schools, and communicating and organising activities with teachers. The successful candidate will be one of two research fellows who will be jointly responsible for the day-to-day running of this ambitious project. Duties will include a wide range of activities such as recruiting and managing a team of casual research staff, liaising with schools to meet deadlines, implementing an experimental design in a school setting, and dealing promptly and efficiently with any issues that may arise.
