Infrastructure Projects is as a regionally-based business unit of Network Rail. Its remit is the efficient delivery of renewals and enhancements on our railway through professional control and management of capital projects. Infrastructure Projects is aligned closely to Network Rail’s ten routes to give better coordination across the business and to deliver capital projects efficiently and at best value.


The Crossrail project aims to deliver 24 trains an hour through 23km of new subsurface railway infrastructure under central London , continuing outwards to the east and west over 76km of some of the most congested and complex rail infrastructure in the UK . The Crossrail project is jointly sponsored by the Department for Transport (DfT) and Transport for London (TfL) and is being developed via a joint-venture company Cross London Rail Links (CLRL). A significant amount of work is required to Network Rail’s surface network and the interfaces between Network Rail and CLRL, DfT & TfL are considerable. A project team has been formed within Network Rail to manage these going forward. Brief Description


Crossrail East is looking for highly motivated individual to join their Traction Power delivery team. As a Project Manager you will be required to manage the delivery (GRIP 5-8) of the AT based Traction Power Distribution system and associated systems on both Crossrail East and West routes affecting Network Rail infrastructure between Pudding Mill Lane to Shenfield and Westbourne Park to Maidenhead. About the role (External)


You will be managing the delivery of allocated works for new ATF Distribution – +/-25kV AC; associated SCADA & Protection Systems; new National Grid delivered Bulk Supply Points; OLE for Power connections; ATF Cabling and Structure upgrades; New Bonding; Signalling and Telecoms Immunisation.


Responsibilities:
1. Deliver the project(s) safely to time, cost and quality, in accordance with the Guide to Railway Investment Projects (GRIP), applicable Railway Group, Network Rail company standards and other specific legislation.


2. Provide a professional, first class, consistent and effective project management service to the clients, including project monitoring and reporting systems in accordance with Railway Group, Network Rail company standards and guidelines.


3. Participate in the development of supply strategies and framework contracts.


4. Provide detailed input for compilation of the business plan and production of the possessions plan.


5. Control project change, risks and contingency within the project life cycle and provide all cost, contingency and programme details to enable the Sponsor to obtain authorisation for portfolios/projects.


6. Provide a safe working environment in the execution of work directly under the post holder’s responsibility, including development of project safety plans and other associated documentation.


7. Assist the Company in discharging its duties under CDM Regulations (Construction, Design and Management Regulations).


8. Identify training needs in safety, technical and management areas for the personnel reporting to the post holder and contribute to their personal development.


9. Undertake accident investigations when remitted to by the relevant designated competent person.


10. Comply with the Investment Competence Framework.
