This post is within the Speech and Language Therapy (SLT) discipline based in the School of Allied Health Sciences in the Faculty of Health and Life Sciences. Within the team you will play a key role in designing and delivering appropriate academic and clinical teaching for undergraduate speech and language therapy students. You will also be involved in our well established programme of interprofessional teaching within the Faculty. Teaching duties will include preparation and delivery of lectures and seminars, supervision of final year projects, contributing to the personal tutoring scheme, and setting and marking of assessments. Your administrative roles will also involve student recruitment and admissions.
You will be a registered speech and language therapist with a SLT honours degree and preferably a higher degree (e.g. Masters and/or PhD) with relevant clinical and teaching practice. We are looking for applicants with a specialist interest in one or more of the following; developmental communication disorders; working with clients with learning disability/complex learning needs; clinical linguistics and language development. You will have experience of supervising and teaching speech therapy students in higher education. It is essential that you demonstrate an interest in research and developing best practice. You will have excellent organisational skills and be able to communicate effectively with all members of the University community.
