The Role:


We are seeking an experienced Social Marketing Manager to join the exciting expansion of our Marketing function. Reporting to the Commercial Director, the Social Marketing Director is responsible for leading the MSI partnership on developing commercially-oriented social marketing strategies to ensure the success and sustainability, ultimately to double the number of MSI enabled safe medical abortions to 6M women by 2020 and to be financially self-supporting with potential to become a recognised surplus driver.


This role will spend significant time in countries and thus will be expected to travel up to 40-60% of the time working closely with Country Programme leadership teams in formulating & implementing social marketing strategy; evaluating programme effectiveness and coaching to improve leadership.


About you:


To be considered for the role you will have:


  • Extensive experience in sales & marketing.

  • Substantial experience working at a senior management level with budget/cost centre accountability, ideally with some logistics experience.

  • Significant experience in sales and marketing, preferably in the health or development sector, and including taking products/services to scale.

  • Experienced in managing distributors and wholesalers and working with third parties to drive sales and margin, combined with P&L management.

  • A commercial mind-set, understanding the levers for profitability for success within the marketplace.

  • Able to focus on the big picture, strategic, while understanding the detail and looking for the evidence.

  • Excellent strategic planning and ability to distil complex data down into clear, cohesive social marketing plans that are client focused.

  • Excellent communication skills – written and verbal skills in English (& preferably fluent in French).

Salary: – £ ­­­­61-80k p/a.
