The future of the visual image


We welcome applications that aim to explore the nature of how human movement has been, is and could be visualised. The nature of the topic demands a transdisciplinary and collaborative approach involving one or more of the following: computer science, computer programming, photography, film, art practice, curation or cultural studies.


Business and enterprise


We invite applications for two full-time PhDs. There will be an expectation to deliver up to six hours of teaching per week. We welcome innovative proposals focused particularly around enterprise, small businesses and their structure, economic impact or business lifecycle.


Law and social sciences


We invite PhD proposals across a broad range of research topics reflecting our overarching interest and expertise in social justice and global responsibility. Broad areas include law, social sciences, education, planning, tourism, hospitality and events.



Current tuition fee waiver scholarships


Each of the below covers fees for three years and begin this spring. The PhDs draw on our expertise in the field of addictive behaviours and clinical psychology. Find out more about our scholarships and how to apply.


Identity change in recovery from alcohol addiction


This PhD will comprehensively examine processes at both the explicit and implicit levels and how they vary over time in recovery from alcohol addiction. You’ll explore identity transitions via a combination of in-depth qualitative work and cutting edge quantitative measures.


The impact of alcohol on collaborative remembering


The aim of this PhD is to conduct research on the impact of alcohol on collaborative remembering and source monitoring judgments in forensic settings. This PhD will combine two distinct research strengths; Investigative Forensic Psychology and Addiction Related Behaviours.


The psychosocial impact of psychiatric medication: Feeling, relating, and living well


The aim of this PhD is to conduct qualitative, phenomenologically-oriented research on the experiences of people taking psychiatric medication, and to explore how medication and treatment impacts on individual’s emotional and relational experience, as well as identity and day-to-day living.
