Background:

This is a brand new category manager position, newly created in the company in order to drive category growth and strategy within the fast growing discounters channel. The role reports into the head of category – retail, and works within a high profile team of bright and high calibre people.

The company is a food businesses, so someone with food and drink experience would be desirable, or a candidate with a real interest in the sector but wider FMCG experience would work well.

You will ideally have bluechip FMCG category management experience, and be looking for your first manager role where you will have the opportunity to develop your line management skills.

Some key responsibilities include:

* Be the Category Champion and drive the Category agenda across the business
* Develop a winning POP vision and plan
* Work with customers to create joint category place for brand label growth
* Providing category insight to influence current and future direction
* Delivering the category fundamentals around space & merchandising targets
* Proactively managing strategic category partnerships
