The Role


Supporting the Director of Strategy in the management and tasking of the small planning team on a day to day basis. A hands-on planning role working as a senior team member to deliver cutting edge planning and customer insights to tell the ‘story’ of how best to go to market for many of the UK’s leading brands.


As part of the business’s Strategy ‘hub’ you will work closely with colleagues from Analytics, Solutions Design and Business Analysis and Client Services to ensure the provision of best in class solutions to the client with the data analytics fuelling the insight in those solutions.


Specifically you will:


  • Understand and apply audience insights

  • Define, audit and improve customer comms/journeys (particularly direct mail, email, SMS)

  • Oversee customer engagement strategy and planning, including data planning, targeting strategies

  • Develop customer ‘personas’/segments

  • Create test matrices

  • Action evaluation strategies to maximise learning and optimise future communications

  • Write propositions, creative briefs, data and evaluation briefs

  • Work-shop with clients, Work with analytics on to uncover insights/evaluate projects and craft the story back to client

The Requirements:


Possessing strong multi-channel communications planning skills with a passion for insight, digital communications, technology and social media; you should have 7 years+ experience within an Integrated, Direct Marketing or CRM agency environment. Evidencing an ability to translate consumer and market insights into marketing actions you will have engaged and brought together all agency stakeholders – from consultants, analysts and client services to creative. With an eye for detail and passion for QA, you will have strong project planning and coordination skills and have a background at least one of these sectors: Automotive, Government, Retail, Charities or Financial Services. From a technology perspective you will be familiar with many of the following:


  • Information Builders

  • Tableu

  • SSRS

  • CRM

  • Data Mining and reporting technologies such as FastStats, Alterian (SDL), Portrait, Neolane, Unica
