A Special Needs School in East London is seeking to appoint an LSA (Learning Support Assistant) to work alongside a colleague and an SEN Teacher in their primary phase. This position has arisen due to increased headcount on the school roll and the opening of an additional class to support this group. All applicants must have recent experience working with children with special educational needs, in either a primary school or specialist SEN environment.

The class consists of 8 pupils with a broad range of learning needs including ASD and Behaviour issues. You would be working alongside a very experienced LSA who is very supportive, friendly and hardworking. You will also benefit from the schools exceptional in house training schemes.

The ideal candidate would have:
A proven record of teaching SEN students with a range of needs
A good understanding of P levels
The ability to prepare and teach effective lessons taking into account the individual needs of learners
Have a basic understanding of PECS and Makaton
Registered DBS or be prepared to carry out a new DBS application.
