United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland: Food Security and Livelihoods Adviser
Salary: £38,000 – £42,000 (dependent on skill set and experience)

We are looking for an experienced individual to join us as Food Security and Livelihoods Adviser and support country offices in Asia to design and deliver high quality Food Security and Livelihood programmes that reduce child hunger, malnutrition and poverty.

As our FSL Adviser you will provide technical support to the design of Food Security and Livelihood programmes, support fundraising efforts and ensure that gender, resilience and child participation are mainstreamed into the FSL programmes. In addition you will:
- Provide technical support to the design of Food Security and Livelihood programmes, ensuring they are based on needs assessments and are contribute towards national policies and international best practice
- Ensure integration of FSL with other sectors, in particular nutrition and child protection so that we can maximise and measure the impact of our work on children’s lives
- Support the technical start-up and ongoing implementation of project implementation as necessary to ensure timely delivery of project activities
- Participate in programme monitoring against planned objectives and outputs, including supporting programme financial and narrative reporting
- Support knowledge management and the capacity building of key Country Office technical staff, ensuring that they have access to internal and learning, tools and policies
- Foster collaboration between the PPQ Department and the Humanitarian Technical Unit.
To be successful you will have proven experience in the design, implementation and management of Food Security and Livelihood programmes in an international development context. You should also be educated to BSc/BA level or equivalent field experience relating to Food Security / Livelihoods. You will also have:
- Demonstrated experience (four years or more) in the design, implementation and management of Food Security & Livelihood programmes in an international development context
- Knowledge of institutional donors and a proven track record in developing funding proposals
- Strong inter-personal and advisory skills, including the demonstrated ability to guide and influence colleagues and others face to face and from a distance.
- Strong analytical and conceptual skills and the ability to think and plan strategically
- Familiarity with various analytical tools relating to food security and livelihoods, including the Household Economy Analysis approach
- The ability to work successfully with minimal administrative support and willingness to travel up to 30%.
