Job Purpose
The role of Project Manager is to manage assigned internal and customer projects, to secure that project goals are met, operations’ and customer’s expectations are fulfilled & that the customer relations are handled in the best possible way within the scope of the contract.
The role will be primarily focused on leading technical infrastructure projects within the Access Services unit of Ericsson’s Broadcast and Media Services division.
This role is required to lead multiple production systems projects relating to the strategic development and transformation of Access Services.
Reporting Lines and Key Relationships
Some of the projects to be undertaken may require a degree of matrix management by a Programme Manager within the Access Services team. In this scenario the Project Manager will work into the Programme Manager.
The role will lead teams from across the centralised Technology Delivery matrix and Access Services business unit, to success.
The role will work closely with central Technology Operations teams and AS Tech (Access Services own technology function) to ensure a smooth handover of any new solutions or services to Business As Usual (BAU) technology services.

Key Accountabilities
Project Leadership and Governance Responsibilities
Provide leadership and the driving force for project teams, drawing on skills from central Technology and other key business areas
Engage operational subject experts within a context of competing priorities and rapid change
Responsible for the application of best practice in project management techniques and methodology, within the framework of the existing Access Services process
Responsible for delivering the overall required business benefit, through a combination of technical change and people / process change
Responsible for robust risk management policies to reduce the likelihood of failure
Responsible for regular reports of progress against key performance indicators targeted at continuous improvement in project delivery
Build strong and effective teams able to meet the demands of the project in hand
Ensure the handover of projects to central Technology and AS Tech to agreed standards and criteria
Financial Responsibilities
Responsible for the management of the project budgets including the monthly reporting of actual and forecast
Tracking and reporting on planned benefits as defined during project initiation stage
Communications Responsibilities
Devise and implement effective stakeholder communication strategies designed to engage, inform and influence, particularly the ‘Client’ of the project
Present confident and clear information and data to every level of the organisation and client as required
Own and manage key relationships with internal and external stakeholders
Develop relationships with the Access Services teams ensuring that projects deliver their required business benefits
Experience and Knowledge
A minimum of three years experience of leading infrastructure projects within the Media Industry
Direct experience in leading multi-disciplinary teams, i.e. Business Analysis, Test, Build,etc.
Direct experience of managing commercial and contractual relationships with clients and suppliers worth over £250K in value
A strong business acumen and financial skill set
A good understanding of effective Broadcast and Media / Metadata Management workflows
Able to manage the full project lifecycle using Microsoft Project as a primary tool
Confident in the use of standard Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
An understanding of the potential of IT based solutions (including social media tools) as tools for communication.
Educated to degree standard
A professional project management qualification (Prince II)
Technical Knowledge in
Data Centre infrastructure, including Connectivity, Firewalls, Networks, Bays and Power,
Server Technologies including virtualisation (VMWare), Linux (CentOS), Windows Server, Database (Percona, MySQL),
Service Migration.Proven track record in
Migrating ‘Mission Critical’ systems in a complex, highly inter-dependent, 24*7 global environment without downtime.
