We are looking for a proactive and practical Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) Advisor to support and strengthen the generation, capture and use of high quality data to help deliver evidence-based, innovative and impactful programmes for children.

As MEAL Advisor you will sit within the Shared Value Partnerships unit, part of the Impact, Innovation and Evidence team at SCUK. This is an exciting new unit, formed to measure and assess the results of SCUK’s high level Shared Value Partnerships with GlaxoSmithKline and Reckitt Benckiser. Working with the Senior Impact Advisor, country office teams and thematic impact, monitoring and evaluation advisors, as MEAL advisor you will work to strengthen global MEAL processes and build capacity across a wide range of health, humanitarian and advocacy projects being implemented in Sub-Saharan Africa and South-East Asia.
You will work to support the delivery of robust global monitoring, evaluation and learning processes which allow these shared value partnerships to clearly articulate, demonstrate, document and learn from the outcomes of our work. This will include supporting the management of independent evaluations and supporting research on the value of these types of innovative corporate partnerships. This is an exciting opportunity to help design and strengthen global MEAL systems across diverse projects for two high profile Shared Value Partnerships, and to conduct independent qualitative research on a variety of topics.
You will also:
-Lead MEAL design and strengthening for key partnership work streams and projects
-Lead and support qualitative research across multiple countries
-Build MEAL capacity of country and project staff across multiple countries
-Support high quality global analysis and maintain result databases for the two Shared Value Partnerships
-Support the management of global external evaluations of the two partnerships
-Engage with diverse internal and external stakeholders to share learning and advocate for best practice around MEAL..
This role is London based, with up to 20% travel.
Candidates: You will have a degree in international development, NGO management, research or equivalent. You will be able to demonstrate an excellent understanding of monitoring and evaluation, as well as knowledge management and learning, and will have substantial practical experience of designing and implementing monitoring and evaluation frameworks in developing countries. A proven project manager and initiative-taker, you will additionally have:
-Practical experience in the promotion of organisational learning in monitoring and evaluation
-Practical experience conducting and supporting evaluation research
-Self-motivation, and great communication and organisational skills
-Excellent IT and data management skills, including knowledge of a range of qualitative and quantitative collection methods
-The ability to engage with a range of stakeholders to offer technical support, summarise data and to motivate contact points to deliver information to tight deadlines
Experience in the fields of international development, human rights and social policy, including an understanding of issues surrounding programme learning, corporate social responsibility, policy formulation and advocacy.
