Do you have the drive and ambition to help improve the lives of disabled people in the UK and across the world?
Leonard Cheshire Disability is a leading disability charity running over 190 services across the UK, with a large and diverse workforce of over 7,100 staff and 4,000 volunteers supporting thousands of people with physical and learning disabilities in the UK. We are also part of a global alliance of over 200 partner organisations working in 54 countries, offering a range of services and campaigning for a world where disabled people are equally valued. We campaign for change and provide innovative services that give disabled people the opportunity to live their lives the way they choose.
Opportunities have now arisen for 2 or 3 Trustees to join the Leonard Cheshire Board. Within this group we are looking specifically for at least one Trustee who can help us maintain and evolve our levels of care in a fairly dynamic market, one from Scotland, and for a trustee with experience in fundraising or wider income generation.
As part of a strong Trustee Board you will provide the strategic direction for the charity and ensure that all appropriate financial and legal checks and balances are in place. You will believe in and support our work for a society in which every person is equally valued, and your collegiate approach and sound judgement will secure your position as a trusted adviser and ambassador who can contribute their skills to changing people’s lives through a thriving charity in a developing landscape.
Ideally you will have personal experience of disability and a strong commitment to disability equality and how this impacts on the quality of life and choices for disabled people.
