United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland: HQ Accountant
The Organisation
Plan International is an independent child rights and humanitarian organisation committed to children living a life free of poverty, violence and injustice. We actively unite children, communities and other people who share our mission to make positive lasting changes in children’s and young people’s lives. We support children to gain the skills, knowledge and confidence they need to claim their rights to a fulfilling life, today and in the future. We place a specific focus on girls and women, who are most often left behind. We have been building powerful partnerships for children for more than 75 years, and are now active in more than 70 countries.
The Role
As part of the Business Resources and Solutions directorate, you will be responsible for supporting the HQ Controller in all aspects of accounting for IH. This covers everything from supplier invoices and expenses, the fixed asset register, and payroll. You will manage two assistant accountants and deputise for the Head of Central Finance when appropriate.
This is a great time to join this newly created directorate, as we focus on continuous improvement and working to better support our internal clients.
The Person
You will be an experienced finance professional – ideally either with AAT or part qualified/qualified by experience. You must have considerable experience of working in an internal finance function, with the ability to build excellent internal relationships. SAP knowledge is vital – we have just rolled out this system for use across Plan International – as you will need to be able to understand how this has been implemented and possibly can be improved. Efficiency is also key – this is a very busy department!
