Enterprise Data Architect – Various Locations – 3 Month Contract
This contract has the option of being located in London, Sheffield, Leeds or Newcastle.
Responsibilities:
- Accountable for providing strategic direction for Enterprise Data Warehouse development Reviews, advises and defines conceptual, logical and physical data models Evaluates, develops and promotes data modelling techniques and tools.
- Participates in data movement tool selection and implementation.
- Reviews data transformations for necessity and efficiency.
- Assesses data integration feasibility.
- Advises and defines data integration mapping algorithms.
- Advises and defines data integration framework (source, target) and standards.
- Advises and defines the metadata definitions from current physical to current logical to new logical to new physical.
- Evaluates new data source against existing metadata.
- Sets data administrations standards and guidelines.
Relevant Experience:
- Experience of working at a senior level in an Enterprise Data Warehouse team in a large complex organisation, such as a bank or financial services 5+ years of proven work experience in data architecture and data modelling
- Expert level knowledge of relational and multi-dimensional database design
- Knowledge of industry best practices for database design, development and administration. Proven analytical skills to properly evaluate and interpret cross-functional data standardisation requirements.
- Proven expertise and skills with business process and data flow modelling.
- A proven track record of resolving complex issues relating to enterprise-wide data architecture within a challenging, dynamic delivery landscape.
- Expert level knowledge of relational and multi-dimensional database design.
- Extensive expertise with data warehouse and business intelligence.
- Expert level knowledge DW/BI stack and Oracle, CA ERwin, SAS, Business Objects & Informatica, Unix Shell programming, SQL Understanding of new open source relational and non-relational technology -Hbase/Hadoop, Hive, Postgres, MongoDB Awareness of new data visualisation/reporting tools eg Tableau, Pentaho Strong background in development & delivery lifecycle methodology Able to build effective partnerships at a senior level
- Awareness of appropriate development languages such as C++, Python, JavaScript Awareness of Agile project methodology SFIA SKILLS
- Information Management IRMG level 6
- Information Systems coordination ISCO level 6 Enterprise and business architecture development STPL level 6
- Data Management DATM level 6
- Business Modelling BSMO level 6
- Systems Design DESN level 6
