Exceptional Web Application Designer UI/UX - Remote Working
Exceptional web application designer
£30-60k DoE
Fully remote position (home working)
My client is looking for an exceptional, extremely talented web application designer, with a good portfolio of modern, relevant work. Skill, talent, and style is far more important to them than years of experience, hence the broad salary range! They will pay according to your experience, but want to find someone with modern, cutting-edge design to be responsible for restyling their suite of business products, which are SaaS (Software-as-a-Service) web applications.
Please only apply if you have excellent, relevant, recent experience. You will have been working for at least two years as a web designer, focussing on web application interfaces, and will have a solid understanding of UI/UX, responsive design, and the latest technologies. To qualify for the more senior salary bandings you will need additional years of experience in a relevant field, and may have come into web application design from a more traditional web or graphic design background.
You need to be able to carry out the design process in the browser as well as working with software such as Photoshop, Fireworks etc., so a good knowledge of CSS3 will be very beneficial. You should also be able to use wireframing tools to produce clear user journeys, and will work with technical writers and developers to guide implementation and documentation of your concepts.
As well as working on my client’s business products (which will be your primary focus and main responsibility), you will also be asked to work on their clients’ projects from time to time, which will again mainly be web applications but could also involve more traditional websites at times. Therefore some examples of this nature in your portfolio will be beneficial.
Your portfolio will be looked at first, before your CV is even opened, so make sure you showcase your best work! Applications without a portfolio will not be considered. It is acceptable for your portfolio to be online or as PDF, but it should make it clear what work is yours, especially if linking to other sites.
You should be confident and competent in all of these, to a high level:
- Significant experience in UI/UX design
- Interaction and interface design
- Adobe Creative Suite
- CSS3/HTML5
- Wireframing and prototyping
- Typography, iconography, and layout
- Animation and transitions
Any experience in 3D, video, and similar complementary fields/technologies will be seen as highly beneficial, but not critical.
This is an excellent opportunity with the potential for long tenure, and plenty of chance for career progression. You will be a part of a vibrant and highly-motivated team that all thrive in the remote-working environment.
