Our client, an exciting and expanding SME Media firm, are seeking a commercially focused and dynamic accountant to join their office as a Finance Manager.

The role is a key position within the firm; reporting into the Financial Controller and Group CFO, the role will be responsible for the hands-on day to day running of the accounts function.

This is a permanent position paying £34,000 – £40,000 depending on experience plus excellent benefits.

– Full responsibility for the smooth running of the daily accounts function
– Sole responsibility for both the Purchase & Sales Ledgers as well as credit control
– Bank reconciliaitons
– Reconciliation of petty cash-
– Processing expenses and company credit card statements
– Maintainence of the fixed asset register
– Preparation of Cash flow
– VAT returns on quarterly basis
– Accruals & Prepayments
– Profit Shares Calculation
– Performing month-end journals
– Inter-company reconciliations
– Payroll for employees of the London office
– Preparing Month End Management Accounts
– Assisting with year-end audit
– Analysis of business, including operational costs, gross margins, identifying improvements and ways to make things more efficient
– Other duties and delegating with Financial Controller, Group FD

– The ideal candidate will be ACCA/CIMA/ACA Part-Qualified or Qualified by experience
– Experience of doing company payroll is essential.
– Solid understanding of Double Entry Bookkeeping
– A minimum 3/4 years acounts experience
– Excellent communication skills- present financial info to non financial people.
– Educated to degree level – desirable
– Previous experience ideally gained in practice or similar SME sized business
– Excellent Excel skills – Intermediate- Vlookups/pivot tables is essential
– Excellent organisational/time management skills
– Willingness to go that extra mile
