Professor Sharon Abrahams is seeking to appoint a full-time Research Assistant to develop pathways to a UK national screening programme for the identification of cognitive and behaviour change in Motor Neurone Disease (MND). This project is an exciting opportunity to work in a highly successful MND clinical research team and impact on national health strategy. The successful applicant will be required to develop a national training programme, liaise between MND teams and clinical psychology services, and assess the impact of cognitive screening on clinical practice and people living with MND.
The appointee will have to have a very good first degree in Psychology, hold a PhD in a clinically relevant field or doctorate in Clinical Psychology and have experience of neuropsychology. They will have good administrative and organisational skills, enjoyment of team working, and a flexible and conscientious approach. Sensitivity and professionalism in dealing with people with neurodegenerative disease is essential.
