Rights of Light CAD Technician - London

Your new company

A professional and respected Building Consultancy based in SE1 with expertise across Party Wall, Rights of Light and Neighbourly matters. The team have extensive experience between them and are well tuned with the London property sector. They are looking to expand their team with the appointment of an additional CAD Design Analyst to join their rights to light specialist team.


Your new role


Your role is providing CAD and technical input for proposed development sites and their surrounding buildings with regards to their impact on light and shadow. The core function of the role is creating highly realistic and accurate 3D Models using AutoCAD 3D, then cross referencing with in-house software to look at the schemes’ impact on adjacent buildings and the immediate area.


You will be handling multiple projects at any one time, and use numerous tools at your disposal, including your technical skills and using the specialist software; but also coordinating with colleagues and outside stakeholders for example the architect, the client and local authorities.


What you’ll need to succeed


The role is open to various candidates, and the company is considering both individuals with direct experience, along with those new to the sector. Typically suitable candidates may have trained as an architectural technician or technologist, or a part ii architect; importantly you will have a strong experience in using CAD, ideally AutoCAD 3D, and a good understanding of how buildings come together. You will be technically minded, inquisitive, have good attention to detail, and enjoy the fast pace of working in a consultancy driven team.
