Our client a leading IT Consultancy / Support company is looking for an enthusiastic and ambitious person to join their IT Support team providing customer facing solutions via on-site visits and telephone/remote support.


The successful 2nd/3rd Line IT Support Engineer will be a logical thinker, able to demonstrate problem solving skills in a time-efficient matter. They should have excellent written and verbal communication skills, telephone manner, and a good command of the English language.


They should be a polite, presentable individual, with a dynamic, go-getting attitude towards work. They should have ability to work well individually or as a team. They should be a punctual individual, with the ability to meet deadlines, and administration skills should be of the highest standard.


2nd/3rd Line IT Support Engineer Responsibilities:


– Logging, prioritisation and escalation of IT support issues and requests.
– Develop and maintain good working relationships with clients to promote high level of customer service.
– Resolution of 2nd/3rd line support issues and requests via telephone, remote support or onsite visits.
– Assist other Line Technicians with support issues where required and mentor 1st line support where necessary.
– Routine systems administration tasks.
– Administration of hardware inventories and software licences.
– Administration of market data services.
– Undertake installation and maintenance of clients IT infrastructure, onsite or remotely.


2nd/3rd Line IT Support Engineer Requirements:
– Experience working with Microsoft Remote Desktop Services and Citrix
– Strong knowledge of operating systems including Windows Server 2008/2012, Windows XP/7/8 /10 & Mac OS
– Good Experience with Virtualisation including Citrix, Hyper-V and VM Ware
– Keen interest in Information Technology, Computer hardware and software.
– Experience of troubleshooting PC/Server Hardware and Software issues.
– Good Experience of MS Exchange Server, MS SQL server and Office 365


– Good experience of Server backup solutions (onsite versus cloud)
– Experience troubleshooting and using Firewalls.
– Good Experience of installing and configuring Routers, Firewall and Switches
– Desirable experience of a variety of Incident Management platform (Cherwell being considered an advantage) but not essential
– Full, Clean UK driving license – Willingness to travel.


Experience of 2nd / 3rd line and IT experience overall.
