Assistant/Property Manager




My client is an expanding property management company based in Stoke Newington, North London. They are seeking a motivated and efficient Assistant/Property Manager with previous property management experience to join their growing team.


You will be dealing with all the day to day aspects of managing the Company’s property portfolio and providing efficient and accurate administration. You will also be required to organise and implement systems and procedures to improve business operations.


This is an excellent opportunity to excel in the property management business and to develop your property management experience. Training will be provided but they are looking for an individual who can hit the ground running. A driving licence and your own vehicle is essential for this role.


Location: Stoke Newington, North London
Salary: £25,000 – £30,000 per annum, depending on experience
Hours: Monday – Friday, 9am – 6pm
Benefits: 28 days paid holiday per annum


Responsibilities of the Assistant/Property Manager role:


  • Deal with tenants’ telephone and email queries.

  • Schedule appointments for perspective tenants to view rental properties.

  • Oversee day to day, contracted and cyclical maintenance, scheduling work and following through to completion.

  • Develop and keep updated a thorough knowledge of the legal framework within which a Property Manager must operate.

  • Process invoices and end of month rent statements and follow up payments.

  • Oversee the rent review process.

  • Manage the end of tenancy process efficiently and ensure empty properties are occupied as quickly as possible.

  • Carry out site visits to inspect properties and meet with tenants etc.

  • List property details onto various websites e.g. Zoopla, Rightmove etc.

  • Request and ensure the return of references for new tenants.

  • Process holding deposits and complete required paperwork.

  • Draw up tenancy agreements and ensure they are signed and returned.

Requirements for the Assistant/Property Manager position:


  • Previous property management experience

  • Good knowledge of landlord and tenant law, building construction, health and safety regulations desirable

  • Strong IT skills, fully conversant with all relevant software applications (MS Office, Word, Excel, etc.)

  • Excellent English written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to multi-task and strong time-management skills

  • The ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines

  • Accurate with excellent attention to detail

  • Ability to develop professional relationships with a wide range of people inside and outside the company

  • Flexible approach to changing circumstances with willingness to take on new tasks and experiences

  • Self-motivated and able to use own initiative and work independently
