Architectural Technician
We are looking for a proactive, highly competent, experienced, Architectural Technician to join our clients growing, in house architectural team, based at their Central London offices. The role is perfect for those that already have previous experience working in the same or similar role for a rival firm in the London area.
Our client is an exciting property developer who takes on a variety of projects from complex conversions to sizeable new build schemes. This role will be working directly for this company as “the client”. Our client is growing and expanding their portfolio by the day, so the successful candidate would have to hit the ground running with previous understanding and experience within residential property development.
As an architectural technician you’ll work closely with a small, hand-picked architectural team on a variety of construction projects in and around the London area.
As an architectural technician, you’ll:
* compile technical information for use in the planning of projects, such as client requirements, site surveys and building regulations
* prepare plans using computer aided design (CAD) software & Revit, as well as traditional drawing methods
* prepare applications for approval by regulatory bodies
* develop specifications for construction drawings
* provide advice on technical matters to the project team
* visit sites to check on progress and inspect work
* produced sketch details to issue to site
Skills, interests and qualities:
* good drawing skills
* the ability to pay close attention to detail
* the ability to visualise objects in 3D
* a practical and methodical approach
* good analytical skills
* the ability to interpret designs and technical drawings
* the ability to use software such as AutoCAD, Revit
* maths skills for technical and financial calculations
* good spoken and written communication skills
* the ability to work effectively in a team and to deadlines
* management skills for leading projects
Salary
Circa £45,000 (depending on experience)
Hours and Environment
9am to 5.30pm, Monday to Friday. However, it may be required to work extra hours and attend client meetings in the evenings on occasion.
The role will be mainly office based, although there will also be required to visit residential development sites or to attend meetings.
