Assistant Financial Accountant

Exciting Assistant Financial Accountant role for a niche but well known retail brand. As a fast growing business the finance team is adding headcount to cope with demand and future proof itself for the forecasted growth over the next 3 years. Hiring at the junior level will provide progression opportunities in the future:

Responsibilities:

• Preparation of VAT returns for UK companies and reconciliation of related balance sheet accounts


• Maintenance of the Fixed Asset Register, depreciation and capital reporting


• Accounting for property costs, including rent, turnover rents, concessions accounting and maintenance costs


• Budgeting and forecasting for property related costs, capital spend and depreciation


• Accounting for the Delivery Company which covers distance selling in the EU


• Monthly balance sheet reconciliations for key accounts (i.e. fixed assets, rent accruals, VAT, PAYE, intercompany accounts)


• Maintenance of the monthly P&L schedules in Essbase


• Support Finance Manager with preparation of the month end accounts


• Other financial support/ad hoc analysis as required (e.g. user acceptance testing for system changes)

Skills & Qualifications:

• Studying towards CIMA/ACCA/ACA (Part Qualified)


• Minimum of 2 years working as a Financial Accountant


• Strong academics


• Retail experience preferable


• Strong excel skills (pivots, v lookups, etc)


• Good communication skills


• Accuracy and attention to detail essential
