Applications are invited to join a multidisciplinary team at the MRC Brain Network Dynamics Unit (BNDU – http://www.mrcbndu.ox.ac.uk) at the University of Oxford. We seek a Senior Postdoctoral Neuroscientist to develop, execute and analyse a combination of electrophysiological, anatomical and behavioural experiments in rodents as part of a scientific programme that is designed to elucidate the function and dysfunction of thalamocortical and basal ganglia circuits in the brain.
Interested candidates should hold a PhD or equivalent qualification (or MD) in a relevant biological science discipline, and should have a competitive track record of original research in their particular field of neuroscience. Candidates are also expected to have strong postdoctoral laboratory experience in electrophysiological, anatomical and data analysis techniques, as applied to the scientific investigation of thalamocortical and basal ganglia circuits in rodents in vivo. Candidates should also be able to provide firm evidence of creative thinking and independent decision-making related to their development and execution of a focused and cohesive programme of research.
The postholder will join the Magill Group (http://www.mrcbndu.ox.ac.uk/groups/magill-group) and will be based in the BNDU at the Department of Pharmacology. The proposed research will take full advantage of the intellectual environment, capital equipment, technical expertise and excellent infrastructure in place in the BNDU.
