** SEN deparment of mainstream secondary school – Challenging Behaviour, Moderate Learning Difficulites including Autism
SEN Learning Support asssistant required for the SEN department of a secondary mainstream school in South East London to start in January 2016 for long term contract through till at least July.
As a learning support assistant at this vibrant secondary school, you will be working 1:1 and in small groups with students with challenging behaviour, as well as students with moderate learning difficulties including autism. We are looking for a strong learning support assistant who has previous experience with literacy intervention, taking withdrawal and intervention groups with SEN and underachieving learners.
You should have some previous experience as a learning support assistant or learning mentor ideally within a secondary mainstream or alternative provision. The ideal learning support assistant will have a strong presence around challenging teenagers with previous experience engaging young people presenting with emotional and behavioural difficulties.
