Role Responsibility
The TV Proms APs work closely with other members of the production team and fulfil a variety of roles: they shoot and edit VTs and pieces to camera; find contributors, filming locations and archive material; write presentation scripts and provide background musical information. They make a major contribution to creative discussion and explore imaginative but realistic programme ideas ensuring that the style, content and mood of the programmes meet the requirements of the target audience. They also brief and look after contributors and presenters on record/transmission days.

The Ideal Candidate
You will have a lively interest in television coverage of classical music with a well-informed knowledge of the repertoire, performers and the classical music world. Experience of successfully shooting, directing and editing interviews and short films is essential. Significant experience of television production is a must as is experience of successfully originating and researching creative programme ideas, writing scripts and securing contributors. The ability to score read and interpret orchestral lay-outs, and the ability to self-edit are desirable.

Contracts of varying durations will be awarded starting between May and July and ending in mid-September 2016 . Interviews will take place during March.
BBC Music Television is looking to recruit Assistant Producers to work on the Proms 2016 concert broadcasts across the TV networks/digital platforms and on the BBC-2 magazine programme “Proms Extra”.
