Advanced Nurse Practitioner - Full time or Part Time


Job Summary

The Brent Urgent Care Centre seeks a talented Advanced Nurse Practitioner/ Nurse Practitioner. You’ll join a passionate team of GPs, ANPs/ENPs, HCAs and administrative staff.


You will assist in the provision of a quality nurse led service to patients attending the Brent Urgent Care Centre. The role requires you to function autonomously and within your sphere of competency, whilst being a support and resource to less experienced members of staff. You must be able to assess patients, plan their care, administer treatment and discharge them or refer them as appropriate to other healthcare professionals / external agencies. The Urgent Care Centres are clinical facilities which require the individual to have the ability to work effectively as part of a multi professional team within a fast pace environment, in line with the protocols and policies of the local Service and Care UK.


Responsible To

You will report into the Lead Nurse, Deputy Service Manager and Service Manager. Care UK has an extensive on-going education and training programme for all clinicians; you will be supported by the Lead GP and the Lead GP for Education and Training.


Skills & Experience

ESSENTIAL


•Proven post registration experience including evidence of working in any of these following clinical areas;
Accident & Emergency
Primary Care environments
Minor Injuries / Illness Units
Acute specialities at a senior level


•Experience of working autonomously
•Evidence of team leadership and supervision of junior staff
•Evidence of teaching and assessing others
•Experience of working within a multi-disciplinary team


•Evidence of autonomous working and the skills in physical assessment required, diagnosis and treatment by use of portfolio
•Evidence of extended skills eg suturing, x-ray interpretation and plastering as appropriate to the centre
•Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing.
•Basic IT skills
•Ability to demonstrate clinical expertise and knowledge of audit
•Demonstrable critical reasoning skills and decision making
•Demonstrable evidence of multi-professional / multi-agency working
•Ability to prioritise patient care
•Perceptive, flexible and effective leadership skills
•Ability to demonstrate effective use of staff and resources
•Complete understanding of the medico-legal aspects of the role
•Fully understanding of equal opportunities, diversity and cultural issue which may arise in the role


Qualifications

ESSENTIAL:
•1st level Registered Nurse with current registration with the UK Nursing Midwifery Council (NMC).
•Evidence of Continuous Professional Development (CPD).
•Post registration qualification in autonomous practice or equivalent


DESIRABLE:
• Post registration certificate in; First contact care, Chronic Disease management, Mental Health Experience or another related subject.
• Post graduate certificate at Level 3
•Teaching and assessing qualification
•Advanced Life Support provider
•Independent Nurse Prescriber or willing to undertake course – Centre dependent
