Part –Time Teaching Assistant in Counselling and Psychotherapy

The School of Education has ambitious plans to build new teams of forward-thinking inspirational educators with innovation at the core. One of the School’s growth areas is Counselling and Psychotherapy where both undergraduate and postgraduate programmes are offered, both of which are fully accredited by COSCA. 


We are seeking to appoint two part-time experienced counsellors who are willing to engage with innovative change, challenging goals, and significantly contribute to the delivery of our undergraduate and postgraduate counselling and psychotherapy programmes. We expect all post holders to engage in continuous professional development to inspire our students to be motivated and creative individuals with a strong understanding of therapeutic education.


The School has well established partnerships with local authorities and is developing a range of other partnerships with external agencies to provide students with the best possible experience in counselling and psychotherapy. A number of exciting initiatives are proposed including: continuing professional development (CPD); post-qualifying counselling and psychotherapy research degrees; the development of a practice-based research clinic offering practice placements for students and low cost medium term counselling and/or psychotherapy service to the public. We are seeking to recruit individuals who are excited by innovative change to join our team as we seek to expand.  


Salary will be at the appropriate point on the Grade 5 salary scale (£26,537 – £29,847 pro rata per annum) and negotiable with placement according to qualifications and experience.
