Public Engagement Team
Three-month commitment, two to three days a week
Based in Brixton, London
Progressio is looking for an enthusiastic Intern to support our Public Engagement Team to raise the profile of our new exciting ZimFare/ZimFast fundraising campaigns within the UK.
This role will involve assisting in creating new and strengthening existing relationships with community group leaders and Progressio supporters, to increase fundraising. This role will also assist in the recruitment of participants for our ZimFare/ZimFast campaign in person, over the phone or online via email or social media. There are three main audiences:
- Young adult International Citizen Service (ICS) Returned Volunteers (aged 18-25).
- Community group leaders in Progressio’s networks (e.g. University Chaplains/staff, student group leaders, youth group leaders, corporate leaders, influential members of the Zimbabwean diaspora, etc.)
- Representatives of church parishes.
If you have excellent communication skills and are interested in pursuing a career within the charity sector, this is a great opportunity to develop relevant skills, gain hands-on experience and a greater understanding of international development and strengthen your CV.

You will receive an induction and all necessary support to carry out this role.
Ideally, we are looking for applicants with the ability to commit to three months volunteering; excellent communication skills; enthusiasm and a proactive approach, including a willingness to speak to people over the telephone; excellent attention to detail; good organisational and administrative skills, and be a motivated individual.
We are also looking for excellent English skills (spoken and written); strong social media skills; the ability to work as part of a team and individually using own initiative; reliability; a genuine interest in challenge/community fundraising, international development and volunteering; a respectful and polite manner, and an openness to learning.
