The School of Health and Human Sciences in conjunction with the Tavistock and Portman Clinic NHS Foundation Trust, are seeking a qualified Clinical Psychologist to shape our developing Doctoral Programme in Clinical Psychology.
In line with other clinical training courses nationally, we are aiming to strengthen our CBT teaching whilst maintaining the integrative pluralistic orientation of the course culture. The course has a close relationship with local service providers and the Tavistock and Portman Trust where some of the teaching takes place. The trainees are diverse and have enormous potential for contributing to the emerging profile of a new generation of Clinical Psychologists. The programme is approved by the HCPC and accredited by the BPS. The Doctorate in Clinical Psychology was established at the University of Essex in 2005. The programme is commissioned by the HEE for 11 places annually with placements throughout the county of Essex.
The Clinical Tutor/Lecturer will be expected to contribute to all aspects of the day to day running of the course. In particular, the post holder will be responsible for tutoring a number of individual trainees, contributing to teaching, assessment and research supervision. A proven commitment to Clinical Psychology training, an enjoyment of working with trainees and an interest in the different aspects of the training (clinical, research, theoretical and personal development) is needed. The successful candidate will also demonstrate excellent communication skills and team-working skills. Applications from people working in all specialities and modalities are welcome. Appointment to this post will be subject to a DBS check.
This is a 0.6 FTE role to be appointed at Lecturer level.
