We are looking for a Research Associate to make a leading contribution to the project: How effective is the Forestry Commission Scotland’s woodland improvement programme – ‘Woods In and Around Towns’ (WIAT) – at improving psychological wellbeing in deprived communities?
Specifically, the postholder will conduct, manage and publish statistical analyses of a complex, 3-wave longitudinal survey in order to evaluate the impact of forestry interventions on community wellbeing. This is a controlled study involving both a repeat cross-sectional survey, and a small panel study, of residents living in six Scottish sites: three where local woods were changed; and three where they were not. Analysis is needed to determine if any changes we see in the communities’ mental health can be attributed to the intervention.
